The Mass General Neuroscience Center was established in 1988 and is located in Building 149 at the Charlestown Navy Yard Campus. Currently the Center has 15 faculty members from the departments of Neurology, Radiology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesia and Critical Care. The Center's scientists and clinicians share common interests in understanding the biology of neurological disorders and work toward the shared goal of developing novel methods of diagnosis and treatment of the disorders. Current research work at the Center is concerned with movement disorders, traumatic/ischemic brain and spinal cord injury, brain tumors, pain, drug addiction, neurodegenerative disease, gene therapy and developmental neuroscience.
