The Department of Neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide a complete range of services across 15 subspecialties for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders.
Our surgeons specialize in all phases of neurological surgery for comprehensive management of brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve diseases and disorders. Our staff includes 32 neurosurgeons and two interventional neuroradiologists, as well as an access nurse who triages and directs outpatient neurosurgical consults.
We offer four operating rooms dedicated to neurosurgical procedures and a 17-bed Neuro Intensive Care Unit that is staffed continuously. The deparment also has excellent staff in nursing, hematology, radiology, neurooncology, neurology and other services.
