Living a Full and Happy Life with Food AllergiesDate: 04/10/2013 - 04/10/2013
Based on the belief that an allergy diagnosis impacts not just the patient but the entire family and includes practical, emotional and social concerns, a number of parents from the Food Allergy Center have come together with the FAC staff to lead a discussion group "Living a Full and Happy Life with Food Allergies." Our discussion group is intended as a place where those impacted by food allergy may come together, share concerns and obtain practical advice, guidance and understanding from others also impacted by food allergies. With no set agenda, participants are encouraged to bring questions or concerns. The group also addresses common situational concerns such as preparing for school, the holidays, play-dates, traveling and dining out. It also advances the FAC's key mission to improve the quality of patients' lives while work on treatment-oriented research continues. Dates chosen thus far are March 5, April 10, May 16, June 25. In addition, children, ages 8 and above, will be included in the April 10 session. The Discussions take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at Massachusetts General Hospital.
