ACD project renamed “e-chart”

MGH Hotline 07.02.10 The Acute Care Documentation (ACD) application, an electronic system for assessments, notes and flow sheet data, now has a new name: “e-chart.”

Grand opening of CNY Mail Services location

MGH Hotline 07.02.10 Each year, MGH Mail Services processes more than 12 million pieces of mail. To help meet the postal needs of the hospital, on June 21 Mail Services opened an expanded mail center at the Charlestown Navy Yard (CNY) Building 149, Room 1160.

In Memoriam: Janice H. “Jay” Ciano

MGH Hotline 07.02.10 Janice H. “Jay” Ciano, an administrative assistant in the Department of Radiation Oncology, died June 13 in an automobile accident in Malden.

MESAC promotes medication safety via medication manual

MGH Hotline 07.02.10 Medication safety is one of the highest priorities at the MGH. To effectively promote and enhance medication education, safety and distribution, the Medication Education Safety and Approval Committee (MESAC) was launched in 2004 under the auspices of the Medical Policy Committee.

MGH honors pioneer in arthroscopic surgery

MGH Hotline 07.02.10 Dinesh G. Patel, MD, chief of MGH Arthroscopic Surgery, is widely recognized as a world pioneer in the field of arthroscopic surgery -- a minimally invasive procedure that uses an endoscope and specially designed surgical instruments to examine and treat damage to a joint.

MGH physicians perform at Partners Night at the Pops

MGH Hotline 07.02.10 In what’s become a summertime tradition, Partners physicians showed off their musical talents at the 13th annual “Partners Night at the Pops: A Celebration in Honor of Our Physicians” at Symphony Hall.
