The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Massachusetts General Hospital is committed to the highest quality patient care and safety. The department places significant emphasis on our quality assurance (QA) program, led by maternal fetal specialist Jeffery Ecker, MD. Our QA team is comprised of physicians, nurses and administrative staff working together to actively review and study the care provided by our five clinical divisions:
- Specialized gynecology
- Gynecologic oncology
- Reproductive endocrinology and infertility
- Female pelvic reconstruction and urogynecology
Our QA team also develops and implements initiatives aimed at improving systems and processes across all our divisions.
The department tracks many performance measures and weighs them against our own goals, as well as national benchmarks. On the following pages, you can view some of these metrics, as well as quality improvement projects that are underway or have been completed.
Our quality improvement initiative is dedicated to learning from our patients. We want to hear your experiences and thoughts on how we can improve the quality and safety of your care. Give us feedback
