Mission
The mission of the Deborah Kelly Center is to facilitate exemplary obstetrical and gynecologic outcomes-based research in women’s health care.
Outcomes research encompasses investigative efforts of women’s health conditions/states valued by patients, providers and/or clinical and translational research scientists. It is anticipated that the Center’s outcomes-based research will be multifaceted, interfacing with other disciplines including but not limited to epidemiology and statistics. Collectively, the data derived are expected to help guide clinical care. While the information yielded will also generate interesting biological questions, the DKC’s mission does not include in depth investigations into the biology of the genesis or progression underlying conditions/diseases.
Vision
To promote clinical and translational outcomes-based research and the pursuit of intra- and/or extramural funding by assisting with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and hospital compliant comprehensive data set collection and management, and the analysis of patient characteristics and/or outcomes by departmental faculty, or researchers sponsored/mentored by faculty of the Mass General Vincent Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
