Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Occupational Therapy provides specialized services to both patients admitted to the hospital as well as outpatients in our ambulatory practices. We work with patients to restore function, develop skills, correct impairments and learn or relearn ways to perform daily activities. Our compassionate care is personalized and guided by the latest developments in therapeutic and rehabilitative practice aimed to optimize the patient’s functional outcomes.

Our occupational therapists provide evaluation, consultation and individualized treatment for patients of all ages with a variety of conditions and diagnoses. Occupational therapy encourages rehabilitation through the performance of activities required in an individual’s daily life that has been disrupted due to:
