OMS Department awarded two grants from Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation

The Department has been awarded a grant from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation to establish the Student Research Training Award (SRTA). This two year award provides financial support to predoctoral HSDM students wishing to pursue research in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Grant proposals for research stipends are currently being accepted. For information, contact Dr. Thomas Dodson, the SRTA program director.

The OMS Foundation also awarded the Department funding for the fourth consecutive Clinical Investigation Training (CIT) Fellowship. The CIT Fellowship is designed for resident or junior faculty oral surgeons to develop independence as clinical investigators through didactic and research training. Candidates should demonstrate a desire to pursue a successful career as an academic oral and maxillofacial surgeon focusing on patient-oriented research activities. The department is currently seeking applicants to begin July, 2006. For more information, contact Dr. Thomas Dodson, Director of the Fellowship in Clinical Investigation.
