The Arthroplasty Service is one of the oldest and most established services offered by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery here at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Supported by a clinical research laboratory and a team of expert hip implant surgeons, the clinic performs about 700 implants annually, many are which are complex, tertiary referrals from other surgeons and institutions. The renowned reputation of the physicians attracts patients worldwide for difficult and complex hip and knee reconstructions.
