Adolescent & Young Adult Foot Program
The Orthopedic Center’s Adolescent and Young Adult Foot Program is a unique collaboration between MassGeneral's pediatric orthopedic surgeons and adult foot and ankle surgeons that:
- specializes in caring for adolescents and young adults with foot problems
- bridges care of complex foot problems from childhood to adulthood
Conditions we treat:
- Pes Planus (painful flat feet)
- Tarsal Coalition
- Hallux Valgus (bunions)
- Clubfeet
- Pes Cavus (high arches)
- Foot and ankle injuries (fractures, ligamentous injuries) and long term secondary results of injuries
- Complex foot and ankle deformities that are congenital or acquired
Services offered:
- Clinical consultation with appropriate diagnostic imaging and evaluation
- Orthotics and footwear consultation
- Surgery
- foot and ankle arthroscopy
- deformity correction using foot osteotomies, tendon transfer, soft tissue releases, external fixation correction
