Palliative Care Volunteers A volunteer with the Palliative Care Service acts as a support person and liaison for the patients and families served by the Palliative Care Team. The volunteers make bedside and unit visits to provide comfort and support to patients/families who are using the Palliative Care Service. They keep medical team members informed of any patient/family concerns, and provide patients/families with information on other support services they may need, such as chaplain, social worker, location of cafeteria or daycare.
