Dr Serna grew up in Barcelona, Spain, and attended medical school
at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona (UAB). She did her
residency in Family Medicine and then worked in an outpatient clinic
as a primary care physician and in a pediatric emergency department. In 2004 she moved to Boston, and spent the next two years with the Palliative Care Service. She is currently working as a Palliative Care attending at the Vall Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, affiliated with the Autonoma
University of Barcelona
"Since my residency, my goal has been to help my patients go through this
difficult time. I enjoy taking care of my patients and hearing their
unique stories. I am particularly interested in serving people from
diverse ethnicities, realising that we all approach the end of life
very differently."
