Prior to entering the field of social work Todd's background includes working in the arena of Performing and Administrative Arts. Volunteering as a "buddy" for people with HIV/AIDS solidified his interest in end of life care and led him to graduate school. Todd has his master's degree in Social Work from New York University and bachelor's degrees in Theatre and Communications from the University of Tulsa and UNLV respectively. Todd is recognized as a Clinical Scholar in Social Work through the MGH Clinical Recognition Program. Todd is an active presenter and teacher of psychosocial dimensions encountered in end of life care.
"My primary role as the palliative care social worker is to assess and address the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families at the end of life. Teaching the psychosocial aspects of care at this challenging time to our fellows and colleagues, and offering bereavement services to our patients' families are additional features of my work."
