Clinical Services Overview
Clinical services are divided between Anatomic and Molecular Pathology, which is led by Gregory Lauwers, MD, Acting Associate Chief, and Laboratory and Molecular Medicine which is led by Kent Lewandrowski, MD. The majority of faculty members — more than 70 — have activities in this Division, including seven who also work in affiliated institutes (Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary, Shriner's Burns Institute, Cambridge Hospital).
Collectively, our clinical services include more than 600 physicians. Our service operates twenty-four hours a day, three-hundred and sixty-five days a year.
The Division oversees and coordinates the activities of the major clinical specialties listed on the right.

Clinical Services are supported by Laboratory Support Services (customer service, outpatient specimen collection and specimen transport).
The Pathology Laboratory Handbook provides test information, test algorithms, as well as specific policies and procedures for specimen collection and results reporting.
Regulatory Compliance
The Division coordinates all Regulatory Compliance activities for the Pathology Service and sites performing point of care tests.
