Diagnostic Molecular Pathology Laboratory

The Diagnostic Molecular Pathology Laboratory is a clinical service laboratory offering specialized molecular DNA testing focused on tumor diagnostics. The laboratory currently (August 2010) performs testing for gene mutations (KRAS, BRAF), DNA methylation alterations (MGMT and MLH1 promoter methylation), microsatellite instability, and diagnostic and prognostic FISH assays (HER2, EGFR, ALK, 1p-19q, CHOP, EWSR1, FKHR, and SYT).

A collaboration with the MGH Cancer Center has led to the establishment of the Translational Research Laboratory (TRL), which performs a broad genotyping screen in tumors termed SNAPSHOT.

The laboratory is located in the Warren Building, Room 508, and is in operation Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The TRL is located in the Jackson Building 10th floor; specimens destined for the TRL should be routed through the Molecular Pathology Laboratory.

For convenience, deliveries can be made to the Immunopathology window on Warren 5. Referring health care providers can contact the laboratory by telephone at 617-643-2716 or email aiafrate@partners.org
