From 2010 to 2014 Dr. Brown held an appointment as Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and as an assistant in Pathology at Massachusettes General Hospital. During this period she was also on staff at the Mass General Hospital Center for Comparative Medicine. Dr. Brown's research interests have been in comparative hematology and hematopathology, macrophage activation and iron trafficking in histiocytic disorders and anemia of inflammatory disease, and novel micro-volume analyses for veterinary clinical pathology. Dr. Brown is board certified by the Clinical Pathology American College of Veterinary Pathologists. She earned her DVM, her PhD, and completed residency from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
She is currently affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital's Pathology Department as a consultant, and has a separate position as Chief Scientific Officer with the Morris Animal Foundation.
