DIAGNOSTIC SURGICAL PATHOLOGY 2009, RIVA DEL GARDA, ITALY
The course will be co-directed by Robert H. Young, MD and Juan Rosai, MD and co-sponsored by Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Centro Diagnostico Italiano, Milan, Italy.
Riva del Garda is located at the north-western corner of Lake Garda also called Benàco (70 m above sea level). Mount Rocchetta (1,575 m) rises steeply to the west, with Mount Baldo (2,218 m) to the east. This location makes Riva del Garda one of the most spectacular spots around Lake Garda. Favorite activities include hiking, ferry and boat trips around the lake, visits to the many other picturesque little towns on the lake, trips to the other lakes of the region, and excursions to Verona, Padova, Mantua, Venice, and the Palladian villas.
The course will cover many areas of surgical pathology and will emphasize time honored crucial aspects of surgical pathology such as gross features and conventional microscopy as well as the many new techniques such as immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology, now available. Integration of the "old" and the "new" in a balanced manner will be stressed.
The faculty will be Jonathan I. Epstein, MD; Fabio Facchetti, MD; Judith A. Ferry, MD; Melinda F. Lerwill, MD; Joseph Misdraji, MD; Elizabeth Montgomery, MD; Giuseppe Pelosi, MD; Drucilla J. Roberts, MD; Juan Rosai, MD; David C. Wilbur, MD; and Robert H. Young, MD. The course will have approximately 24 hours of Category I CME credit for USA registrants. The course fee will be $985 US.
