Anticoagulation: Focus on Thrombosis Prevention and Treatment

This conference is targeted for nurses and other interested allied healthcare professionals who provide care to patients on anticoagulants.  Participants will learn about commonly used anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs and be introduced to new ones; gain familiarity with the clotting cascade; learn and recognize risks associated with DVT/ PE and atrial fibrillation; learn about commonly used diagnostic studies for patient with clotting disorders; and understand the Anticoagulation Management Service model of care and patient services.  Contact hours will be awarded.

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form.

Registration Fees:  Free for MGH Employees and Students, $50 for Partners Employees, $100 for All Others.

The Norman Knight Nursing Center does not accept credit card payments for registration of programs.  
Public transportation is strongly recommended  to attend continuing education programs. Garages in the vicinity of MGH generally charge approximately $ 40  per day. MGH does not reimburse for parking.
