PALS Instructor Course

This 1-day program that will include review of the PALS courses, both provider certification and recertification; principles of adult learning; PALS science update and interactive teaching strategies. An important component of the course is peer practice: instructor candidates teach each other in practical evaluation stations and receive feedback from their peers and instructors.

Prerequisites/Requirements:
 1. Current BLS Healthcare Provider status
 2. Current PALS Provider status
 3. Preparation and presentation of an assigned teaching assignment
 4. Completed instructor candidate application
 5. Minimum score of 90% on the written examination, without remediation
 6. Must instruct at a minimum of 4 courses during every 2-year period
 7. Must attend required instructor updates (occur every 1-2 years)

Pre-Registration Required.

Program awards certification and no contact hours for continuing education.

Registration Fees: 

Free for MGH Nurses, Therapists and MDs.

$125.00 for Partners Nurses, Therapists and MDs.

The Norman Knight Nursing Center does not accept credit card payments for registration of programs.  
Public transportation is strongly recommended  to attend continuing education programs. Garages in the vicinity of MGH generally charge approximately $ 40  per day. MGH does not reimburse for parking.
