Simulated Critical Care Emergencies: Enhancing Patient Safety
The purpose of the program is to enhance patient safety by increasing the participant's skill, awareness, and knowledge of teamwork principles and management of medical emergencies. Critical care nurses participate in two videotaped simulated scenarios followed by a debriefing which focuses on the clinical and behavioral aspects of performance.
Eligible nurses include MGH nurses working in one of the following units: Burn ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiac surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Neuroscience ICU, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Surgical ICU, and Transplant ICU. 2.0 Contact hours will be awarded.

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form. |

Course open to MGH nurses only, no fee.
The Norman Knight Nursing Center does not accept credit card payments for registration of programs.
Public transportation is strongly recommended to attend continuing education programs. Garages in the vicinity of MGH generally charge approximately $ 40 per day. MGH does not reimburse for parking.
