Bigelow 11, part of the teaching service at MGH, is a twenty-five bed
acute medical unit. The patients on this unit represent a diverse adult
population with a wide range of complex medical problems including cardiovascular,
pulmonary, endocrine, neurological, psychosocial and infectious disease.

Ellison 16 is a 36-bed unit devoted to the care of
the acutely ill medical patient. Patient population on this unit includes
Congestive Heart Failure, R/O MI, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease,
Cystic Fibrosis, Renal Failure (including patients requiring CAPD), Liver
Disease, Diabetes, and other medical diagnoses. Ellison

Phillips House 20 is a twenty-bed unit for adult patients with a wide
variety of medical conditions. All patient rooms are private. The unit
is located in the Ellison Tower. Phillips House

Phillips House 21 is a 20 bed general medical unit.
The population consists of private medical patients with the predominant
specialty being cardiac care and oncology.

White 8 is a twenty-six-bed adult inpatient unit. The unit serves patients
from culturally diverse backgrounds and geographic areas that present
with acute and complex medical problems. Patients are generally admitted
to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer from one of
the intensive care units. White 8

White 9 is a twenty-five-bed acute care medical unit.
A majority of patients come directly from the emergency room and have
single or multi-system problems including, but not exclusively, alterations
in gas exchange, airway clearance, cardiac function, renal function, nutrition,
hepatic function, skin integrity and mental states. White

White 10 is a twenty-bed adult inpatient unit. The
unit serves patients from culturally diverse backgrounds and geographic
areas that present with acute and complex medical problems. Patients are
generally admitted to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer
