the individual needs of each patient.
The goal is to assist patients toward improvement in their individual
functioning and transition to the next level of care. The programs
include individual, group and family therapy, psychopharmacology,
psycho-education, and somatic therapies.
TEAM MEMBERS
The RN staff is supported in their work
with patients by patient care associates who work under the direction
of the RN in assisting patients with their activities of daily living
and managing the community. The RN staff are also supported by nursing
leadership which consists of a Nursing Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist
and Operations coordinator who provide administrative and clinical
support. Nurses participate in developing and implementing treatment
plans, provide psychotherapeutic interventions via individual and
group therapy, manage the milieu and provide disease management
and medication education. To inquire about positions available on
this unit, please contact Sarah Welch at shwelch@partners.org.
The nurse plans, implements and evaluates care
for their primary patients from admission to discharge. The nurse
is a strong advocate for patients and their families during their
psychiatric admission. They will assist the patient to set reasonable
goals for hospitalization and clarify the treatment plan. Other
members of the team include the operations coordinator and associates
who ensure the smooth functioning of the operations of the unit.
Every patient on Blake 11 is seen daily by a
member of a multidisciplinary treatment team who contributes to
the care of that patient. This includes attending and resident physicians,
psychologists, occupational therapy staff, social workers and a
case manger.
