APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Course
The purpose of this nationally offered program developed and administered by APHON is to increase knowledge about cytotoxic treatments of cancer. Objectives include describing the action and side effects of chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, describing safe administration techniques and discussing the nursing care of children receiving chemotherapy or biotherapy. Nurses must attend both days.

Note: Only registered nurses who will administer chemotherapy may thake this program. Preference will be given to the nursing staff from Ellison 17, Ellison 18, Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic, Adult Oncology and Radiation Medicine. All other nurses must get their manager's approval to attend this program. Fee structure is diffrent for Non-MGH nurses.
Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form. |
