BLS (CPR) Recertification

Successful completion of this program recertifies staff in the American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider (HCP) Basic Life Support (BLS). First priority will be given to staff who are required to have AHA BLS as part of their position.  All others are encouraged to complete unit-based age-specific mannequin demonstration to meet training requirements.

Class Requirements:  Proof of AHA Certification/Recertification within the past two years (card/letter).

Review of the new AHA HCP Manual is mandatory. This book may be obtained through  The Norman Knight Nursing Center for Clinical and Professional Development located at Founders House 312 or 316. An $11.00 deposit for the book is required.  A refund will be issued once the borrowed book and CD are returned.

Registration Fees:

Free for MGH Patient Care Services Employees ($11.00 refundable deposit for the book)

$20.00 for MGH Non-Patient Care Services Employees (plus $11.00 refundable deposit for the book)

$45.00 for Partners Non-MGH Employees (book included)

$35.00 Students/Travel Nurses (plus $11.00 refundable deposit for the book)

$55.00 Non-Partners (book included)
The Norman Knight Nursing Center does not accept credit card payments for registration of programs.  
Public transportation is strongly recommended  to attend continuing education programs. Garages in the vicinity of MGH generally charge approximately $ 40  per day. MGH does not reimburse for parking.
