MGH End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Workshop

This two day workshop focuses on caring for dying patients throughout the health care continuum. There are nine modules covered in the ELNEC curriculum. These include: Overview of Caring for the Dying, Pain, Symptoms, Loss and Grief, Ethics, Culture, Communication, Quality Improvement and the Final Hours. This is appropriate for all health care providers including all levels of nursing from nursing assistants, to occupational therapy, and any one else with an interest in the care of the dying. Completion of both days will result in being ELNEC trained.

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form.

Registration Fees:  Free for MGH Employees and Students, $50 per day for Partners Employees, $100 per day for All Others.

The Norman Knight Nursing Center does not accept credit card payments for registration of programs.  
Public transportation is strongly recommended  to attend continuing education programs. Garages in the vicinity of MGH generally charge approximately $ 40  per day. MGH does not reimburse for parking.
