Pacing Concepts

This workshop is targeted to staff nurses who work in critical care, cardiac step-down and medical areas where there is a high population of patients with pacemakers. This program will discuss the basics of pacing including principles of conduction, indications for pacing, the pacing system, the international 5 letter code, single vs dual chamber pacing, and care of the patient post implantation. The session will conclude with case studies and a discussion of current and future technology. Four hours in length. Contact hours will be awarded.

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form.
