Simulated Bedside Emergencies for the New Nurse
The program targets nurses with less than a year of acute care experience who have completed orientation and are feeling comfortable in their role as a new nurse. The purpose of the program is to increase participants' awareness, knowledge, and skill related to caring for patients experiencing bedside emergencies. The program includes didactic presentations and participation in simulated scenarios. Scenarios are videotaped and followed by a debriefing. The debriefing focuses on both the clinical and behavioral aspects of performance. Nurses with less than a year of acute care experience working on the general care units at MGH are eligible to attend. Nurses working in ICU’s are not eligible to attend.
3.25 Contact hours will be awarded.

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form. |

The Norman Knight Nursing Center does not accept credit card payments for registration of programs.
Public transportation is strongly recommended to attend continuing education programs. Garages in the vicinity of MGH generally charge approximately $ 40 per day. MGH does not reimburse for parking.
