At MGH we recognize that meeting spiritual and religious needs is an important part of caring for you as a whole person. To respond to these needs, the hospital offers the services of our Chaplaincy. Ministry is available to people of all faiths and to those of no religious affiliation.

Occupational Therapy is available for you as an inpatient or outpatient at Massachusetts General Hospital. Your treatment program will be tailor designed to meet your personal needs. Your therapist will also stress ongoing education and provide guidance for you and the people that support you in the community.

The Orthotics/Prosthetics Department provides patients with custom fabricated braces (orthoses) and prosthetic devices (prostheses). It acts in conjunction with physicians, therapists, and nurses to provide patients with devices, which are appropriate to their condition.

The MGH inpatient physical therapy service provides physical therapy examination and evaluation to patients with impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or other health-related conditions. Physical therapy is provided on all of the inpatient care units, to patients of all ages, from neonates to older adults. The Outpatient Physical Therapy Service is comprised of more that 30 physical therapists, including Board Certified Clinical Specialists, who provide preventative and restorative services to patients with a wide variety of functional limitations and disabilities.

The department of speech, language and swallowing disorders provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatment programs for all communication and swallowing disorders in acute and outpatient populations from newborns to adults. Staff includes fully certified and bilingual clinicians to meet our patient's needs. Our clinicians serve individuals with a variety of communication and swallowing problems.
