Frequently Asked Patient Pick-Up and Transportation Questions Q. If I am picking up a patient or visitor from MGH, where will they be waiting for me?A. Patients and visitors can be picked up from the Wang Lobby via the Wang Loop, located off of Parkman Street, Monday – Friday, 6am – 8pm. All other times, including add day Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, patients and visitors can be picked up from the Main Lobby. Q. If I need to park my car when coming to MGH to visit or pick up a patient, which parking garage should I park in? A. When visiting or picking up a patient Monday – Friday, parking in the Fruit Street and Parkman Garages is recommended. Both garages allow visitors to park for free up to 25 minutes. If the patient you are picking up is visiting MGH’s Yawkey Outpatient Center, please park in the Yawkey Garage. It can be accessed directly from Cambridge Street or via Fruit Street. Q. I use transportation services that can accommodate wheelchairs such as “The Ride”. Where will these vehicles drop me off and pick me up? A. All chair cars will drop off and pick up patients from the Wang Lobby for all visits to the MGH except when the patient’s destination is the Yawkey Building. Patients with appointments in the Yawkey Building will be dropped off and picked up from the Yawkey Building entrance. Q. If I require wheelchair assistance, will one be available to me when I arrive?A. Yes. MGH staff and volunteers will be available to assist individuals requiring a wheelchair at the White, Yawkey, Cox, and Wang entrances. Q. Does MGH have a valet parking service? A. Yes. Valet parking service is offered at two locations. One location is at the Wang entrance (Monday – Friday, 6a – 9p) and second is at the front door of the Yawkey Building (Monday – Friday, 8a – 6p), which can be accessed from Fruit Street. Q. If I would like to use a taxi service from MGH, where can I access one?A. MGH has a taxi stand located on North Grove Street at Parkman Street. MGH Information Desk Associates are also available to call a taxi for your convenience. |
