06/15/12 - Police and Security Receives Patriot Award
Mass General Police and Security was honored with a Patriot Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an organization of the U.S .Department of Defense. The award recognizes employers who offer extraordinary support to employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserve. Pictured from left to right are: 1st Lt. 06/22/12 - Officer Received Ricardo Diaz Award
Larry "Tree" Washington, a 32 year veteran of the department, has won 2012's Ricardo Diaz Award. The Ricardo Diaz Award is named after the former Buildings and Grounds employee who died in an accident while plowing snow at the MGH in 2003. It is awarded annually to an employee who exhibits Diaz's qualities: hard work, dedication and selflessness.
06/23/12 - Seven Mass General Officers Graduate from Police Academy
Congratulations Graduates!! Mass General was well represented in the Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 graduation ceremonies of the 113th Northeast Regional Police Institute Reserve Intermittent recruit class. 11/12/12 - Air Force Veteran from Police and Security Plays a Prominent Role in Hospital Veteran's Day activities
Security Officer Robert Langhorne (USAF, ret.) was among a group of Mass General military veterans and military family members who were part of a one-hour panel discussion as part of the hospital's Veteran's Day activities.
