BiographyDr. Vranceanu has completed her graduate training in Clinical Health Psychology at Kent State University, and her internship and post doctoral training in Behavioral Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Vranceanu's research focuses on psychosocial correlates of medical illness, the development and testing of skills based interventions for patients with medical illness, and the use of technology in improving the care of medical patients. Dr. Vranceanu has published over 75 articles and book chapters. Her research has been supported by several research grants. Currently Dr. Vranceanu serves as PI on 3 clinical trials testing evidenced based interventions delivered using video-conference in adults with orthopedic trauma, and adults and adolescents with neurofibromatosis. Clinically, Dr. Vranceanu has over 10 years experience working with patients with medical illness using evidence-based time limited approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (3RP) and other mind body approaches. She also specializes in the delivery of interventions via tele-psychiatry and video-conferencing.
