Educational Workshop: Best Practices in Behavioral Health for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming People

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Mass General Department of Psychiatry, the Department of Psychiatry Center for Diversity, and the National LGBT Health Education Center at Fenway Institute. The program is free for all Partners mental health clinicians.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this program, participants will be able to define basic concepts, pronouns and terminology relevant to mental health care for transgender and gender non-conforming people; describe the relationship of stigma and discrimination to mental health disparities experienced by transgender and gender non-conforming people; and apply best practices in mental health care for transgender and gender non-conforming patients. The target audience for this program is psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse clinicians, social workers, counselors, residents and fellows.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the ACCME through the joint providership of McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
