This one-year, full-time addiction fellowship affiliated with Harvard Medical School offers exposure to a wide range of clinical opportunities. Fellows receive one year of training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and McLean Hospital. Fellows mentor and teach medical student clerkships and present article reviews in weekly seminars. Administrative and practice management issues are addressed in individual supervision with program faculty. At inpatient programs, fellows have administrative responsibilities in treatment planning.
The primary goal of the Partner’s HealthCare Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship is to train outstanding psychiatrists who will become experts in the field of psychiatry. Graduates of the fellowship may pursue careers in the clinical care of individuals with substance use disorders and their families, research, education or a combination of these activities.
The Center for Addiction Medicine works with the Mass General Outpatient Addictions Clinic within the Partners Addiction Research Fellowship to offer an ACGME-approved clinical fellowship that confers board eligibility in addiction psychiatry. This fellowship can be completed in one year as a full-time fellowship or over two years as a half-time fellowship.
