The MGH Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds is a new web-based center that aims to be an educational resource for parents and other caregivers on the mental health needs of children and young adults who struggle with behavioral, emotional and/or learning challenges.

The MGH Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds was established through a generous gift to the Department of Psychiatry in response to the extreme shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists in the U.S. today – roughly 7,000 to care for some 15 million young people who will require their services at some point in their lives.

  • Promote optimal emotional development in children, adolescents and young adults, including resilience, or the ability of an individual to maintain personal and social stability despite adversity.
  • Increase awareness of mental health problems and available treatments among parents, and those who work directly with young people.
