  • A warm welcome despite cold weather
    The 58-members of the International Medical and Surgical Response Team (IMSuRT) returned to a warm and friendly welcome despite the cold temperature at Logan Airport Jan. 7. The team had spent 10 days in Bam, Iran, helping victims of a devastating earthquake that hit the area Dec. 26.
  • Diaz's memory honored at awards ceremony
    Family, colleagues and friends - many from MGH Buildings and Grounds and Environmental Services - packed the O'Keeffe Auditorium Jan. 6 for the first annual Ricardo Diaz Memorial Award ceremony.
  • Partners Telemedicine makes a difference in Cambodia
    Partners HealthCare and the MGH have long been committed to helping not only local patients with illnesses and injuries, but also the greater community and beyond.
    It is the "beyond"that has become a most significant commitment for the Partners Telemedicine program, which initiated a pilot program in 2001 called Operation Village Health.
  • From hoops to heroes: Celtics recognize MGHer
    At half-time during the Jan. 7 Celtics versus Orlando Magic game, Atala Esquilin, a patient navigator for the Avon-MGH Breast Care Program at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center, received the "Heroes Among Us" award as she was cheered on by the enthusiastic fans.
  • Join the clean team
    The STOP (Stop Transmission Of Pathogens) Task Force is encouraging MGHers to "Join the Clean Team" and use CalStat before and after patient contact. Twenty-four MGHers have joined the team and posed for the posters, which currently are being distributed throughout the hospital.
  • Go Pats . . .
    Because of MGH's longstanding relationship with the Patriots , 20 lucky MGHers won this week's raffle for tickets to the highly anticipated playoff game Jan. 10 with the New England Patriots against the Tennessee Titans.
