Senior HealthWISE seminar
The MGH Senior HealthWISE program will offer "Aging and Wisdom: The Spiritual Journey of Later Life" Jan. 20, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Shelia Crowell, of MGH Chaplaincy, will discuss finding meaning and purpose in life's spiritual journey and using creative tools to harvest wisdom already attained. Nursing career expo
MGH Patient Care Services Human Resources will be hosting a Nursing Career Expo Jan. 25, from noon to 4 pm in the North and East Garden Dining Rooms. Learn about staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, nurse manager, nurse practitioner, patient care associate and surgical technologist opportunities at the MGH. Mavericks, Miracles and Medicine
The MGH Department of Medicine will present a screening of "Mavericks, Miracles and Medicine," as seen on the History Channel, Jan. 28, from 3 to 5 pm in the Ether Dome. This film documents some of the greatest MGH moments in the history of medicine. Jeffrey Tuchman, director of the film, and Julie Fenster, author of the series' companion book, will be present for a discussion and book signing. EAP offerings
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer a 12-week support group for female employees who have been affected by domestic violence, either in a past or current relationship. The group is free and open to employees of the MGH, BWH and Partners. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays, from 4:30 to 6 pm at the MGH. The EAP also will offer six training courses throughout the year for managers and supervisors about using the EAP as a resource to assist with behavioral health, mental health and substance abuse concerns. The first training session will be offered Jan. 22, from noon to1:30 pm in the Sweet Conference Room, and the second session will be March 2, from 8 to 9:30 am in the Burr 3 Conference Room. Additional sessions will be May 4, July 22, Sept. 7 and Nov. 2. To register, contact the EAP at (617) 726-6976.
