Access Program helps MGH patients To better serve uninsured patients like Peter Brooks
and to improve reimbursement for their care, the MGH launched a new initiative in 1998 to
help them gain access to publicly supported insurance programs.
Celebrating
the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. MGHers gathered in the MGH Chapel for a service of
reflection and song to honor the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday
Jan. 15.
Life's
little instruction book Many new parents have questions about their
bundles of joy once they arrive home. Now the MGH is providing a resource guide called
"Growing Up Healthy," created by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
and the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, to help parents with their new responsibilities.
MGHer presented with
honor from the city of Revere Dennis Ausiello, MD, MGH physician-in-chief, recently
received a certificate of merit from the city of Revere in recognition of his achievements
in academic and clinical medicine.
Turning roller
coaster fears into thrills Michael Otto's career has taken some twists and turns
before but nothing like this. Otto, a psychologist at the MGH, recently contracted with
Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla., to help devise a program to help nervous riders
prepare for two new roller coasters.

donation helps those in need Members from the Association of
Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) presented a holiday donation Jan. 15 to Bonnie
Zimmer, MSW, director of the MGH's domestic violence program, to help victims of abuse.
