February vacation club
The MGH Backup Child Care Center will offer a school-age vacation club, Feb. 17 to 20, from 7:30 am to 6 pm, for employees' children from 6 to 12 years old. Reservations will be taken by phone and in person at the Backup Childcare Center. The cost per child for four days is $220 or $60 per child per day. Basic Biostatistics for Clinical Investigators
The Clinical Research Program, the General Clinical Research Center and the Center for Clinical Nutrition are sponsoring "Basic Biostatistics for Clinical Investigators" in the Walcott 2 and 3 Conference Rooms, Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 4 to 5:30 pm. The lecture Feb. 3, "Study Designs and Summarizing Data in Medical Research" will discuss different designs for clinical studies and the properties of common ways of describing data. Intended for investigators at the fellow and faculty level with minimal statistical experience, this course will consist of one-hour lectures followed by a question and answer period. Mavericks, Miracles and Medicine
The MGH Department of Medicine will present a screening of "Mavericks, Miracles and Medicine," as seen on the History Channel, Jan. 28, from 3 to 5 pm in the Ether Dome. This film documents some of the greatest MGH moments in the history of medicine. Jeffrey Tuchman, director of the film, and Julie Fenster, author of the series' companion book, will be present for a discussion and book signing. Safety in the workplace
MGH Police and Security and the MGH Safety Office will present an educational session, "Safety in the Workplace"Jan. 26, from noon to 1 pm in the seventh floor conference room at CNY Building 149.
