Happy
birthday to MassGeneral Hospital for Children MassGeneral Hospital for Children celebrated its first birthday Jan. 17 with information displays and a special cake-cutting ceremony in the Main Corridor. Alan Ezekowitz, MBChB, DPhil, chief of Pediatrics; Patricia Donahoe, MD, chief of Pediatric Surgery; and Ronald Kleinman, MD, associate chief of Pediatrics for MassGeneral Hospital for Children, greeted patients, visitors and employees in a brief presentation. Last year, MGH Pediatrics changed its name to MassGeneral Hospital for Children to better convey to the public that the MGH has a specialized children's hospital within its general hospital. The name change better reflects the mission of the service to provide the highest quality care throughout the lives of its patients. The hospital within a hospital is composed of more than 100 pediatric specialists and a network of more than 200 primary care pediatricians, as well as nurses, child life specialists and social workers.
