Annual SAC meeting celebrates MGH research

The 57th annual meeting of the MGH Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC)
gets under way Feb. 4 at 11:30 am with the annual poster session. Reflecting the growing interest in and quality of MGH research, this year's poster session has expanded to both the Wellman Conference Room and the WACC Lobby. At 2:15 pm, the annual research symposium will begin in the O'Keeffe Auditorium, featuring talks by Ralph Weissleder, MD, PhD, director of the MGH Center for Imaging Research, and Rox Anderson, MD, of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine. Jeffrey Gordon, MD, of Washington University School of Medicine, a member of the SAC, will give the afternoon's keynote address.

The meeting of the SAC — distinguished researchers who advise the MGH on research policy — takes place Feb. 5 in the Wellman Conference Room. Along with a review of current MGH research and discussion of scientific interaction with programs at Partners and throughout Harvard, the meeting will address the developing thematic research centers, communication with the research community, issues in clinical research and the NIH Roadmap for Medical Research. The entire MGH community is welcome at these sessions, which run from 8:15 to 11:45 am and 1:15 to 5 pm.
