  • MGH increases capacity for PET scans
    The Department of Radiology, working with MGH administration, acquired a new positron emission tomography (PET) camera last summer to step up the hospital's use of the technology for patient care. The newest PET camera is temporarily housed in a medical trailer located across the street from the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary until renovations are completed on White 2.

    Daylight saving time begins April 2 at 2 am. Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour.
  • JCAHO survey expected this fall
    The MGH recently received an application from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), which means a team of JCAHO surveyors will be visiting the hospital sometime this fall.
  • Is there a doctor in the house?
    Physicians sometimes are asked to take care of the sick and injured even when they are not on duty. Two MGHers recently were called into action as they were taking a break from their hectic work schedule.
  • MGH Ether Dome — site of innovation
    More than 50 people came to the MGH March 25 to visit the Ether Dome as part of the inaugural tour of the Boston Innovation Trail. A first-of-its-kind interactive tour, the trail highlights many medical, biomedical, technological, financial and educational discoveries that are part of Boston's history.
  • Seniors get more than health care at the MGH
    The MGH is a place where people come to get well and stay well. In this spirit, the MGH Senior Supper Club will provide senior citizens with an inviting and stimulating place to dine at the Eat Street Cafe.
  • Real world experience
    MGHers are needed to host seventh graders for the fourth annual City of Boston Middle School Job Shadow Day May 16. Job Shadow Day introduces students to the world of work, promotes career exploration and helps students make the link between school and career.
