MGH wins award for transportation management

The MGH recently received a transportation management award from the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) Patriot Chapter. Bonnie Michelman, director of MGH Police and Security, accepted the Leadership Excellence Award on behalf of the MGH at the ACT Patriot Chapter New England Transportation Demand Management conference and awards luncheon April 3.

The award is given to an organization for its outstanding contributions to the field of transportation management through effective and exemplary leadership.

David Straus, president of the ACT Patriot Chapter, nominated the MGH for the award. With services such as the subsidy of transit passes, the MBTA corporate T pass program, the Zipcar program, the investment in bicycle/pedestrian facilities and a dedicated staff at the MGH, the hospital "is truly an excellent example of how successful transportation demand management can be when a company is in full support," says Straus.
