Hermes Grillo, MD, of MGH Thoracic Surgery, was awarded the Henry Jacob Bigelow medal for contributions to the advancement of surgery April 7 by the Boston Surgical Society.

Ellen Kinnealey, RN, of MGH Biomedical Engineering, recently received the Janssen Elder Care Award from the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF). Kinnealey was recognized at the fifth annual NPSF Patient Safety Congress for her paper on safer drugs, which was implemented in the Intensive Care Unit and Operating Rooms at the MGH.
