  • Preparations for the Democratic National Convention
    The Democratic National Convention (DNC) committee has released its plans for changes in traffic and public transportation during the week of the convention, which will be held at the Fleet Center July 26 to 29.
  • On the front line: MGH says "thanks" to nurses
    This week, the MGH has celebrated and honored the many accomplishments of the hospital's nursing staff with a series of seminars and events that focused on this year's Nurse Recognition Week theme — Nursing at the MGH: Simply the Best.
  • Children take the spotlight
    Although the recognition of Children and Health Care Week took a hiatus last year, the weeklong series of events was celebrated in style as MassGeneral Hospital for Children staff honored the children who inspire them every day.
  • Poster session spotlights women's health research at MGH
    As part of the MGH celebration of National Women's Health Week, 12 research posters describing studies related to women's health will be on display next week. Entitled "Improving the Health of Women through Research at Massachusetts General Hospital," the poster session is sponsored by the Research Committee of the Women's Health Coordinating Council (WHCC) and will hang in the White, Bigelow and Ellison first-floor hallways from May 10 to 14.
  • Vascular Center creates radiology safety course
    The MGH Vascular Center organized its first Radiology Safety course April 8 in the Trustees Room. Developed and coordinated by the Vascular Center's Education Committee, this course is designed to give all employees of the Vascular Center involved with radiation-related interventions practical training in radiobiology, radiation protection of both patients and clinicians and radiation monitoring.
