  • PACE mile marker - first pilot site goes live
    April 16 represented a significant mile marker for the hundreds of MGH employees involved with the Patient Administrative Cycle enhancements (PACE) project, aimed at improving the efficiency of the outpatient registration, insurance referral and hospital billing processes. Part of the Internal Medicine Associates (IMA) practice successgully "went live,"using the new PACE model for outpatient registration and referral processing.
  • Nurses recognized for the exceptional jobs they do
    Every day, nurses assume a myriad of different roles — caregiver, confidant, advocate. While medical care and procedures continue to evolve and improve, nurses are constantly working to create a safe environment for patients and their families. Patient safety was just one of the many topics discussed during Nurse Recognition Week, May 4 through 9.
  • Senior Supper Club offers a taste of tantalizing treats
    Emeril Lagasse would surely have offered his signature "bam" as Helen Doherty, RD, director of MGH Nutrition and Food Services, and Susan Barraclough, MS, RD, senior manager of Retail Operations and Production for the department, hosted a cooking demonstration for the MGH Senior Supper Club.
  • Preparing for the future: MGH offers workforce development series
    MGH Training and Workforce Development will host a series of career development workshops in May and June to inform employees about growing fields in health care. The workshops will highlight careers at the MGH, such as nursing, radiology, surgical technology and health information services.
  • MGH Labs recognized for their behind-the-scenes work
    The department of Pathology Laboratory Services was recognized during National Medical Laboratory Week April 20 to 26 for the behind-the-scenes work they do performing tests, interpreting results and providing a complete picture of a patient's health.
