EBenefits anytime, anyplace Benefits information now is available to all MGHers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The new online service, which began May 7, grants employees access to their benefits profile online through the new Employee Self Service feature in PeopleSoft, called eBenefits. Employees now are able to view or make changes to benefits information for life events such as marriage or birth and during annual open enrollment periods. "This new option should provide a higher level of confidence for employees when they make changes to their profiles," says Paul Chaney, director of MGH Benefits. "They will be able to see the updates online in their benefits summary within a few days after the change is made. Once the changes are entered by the employee, they are automatically sent to the appropriate benefits vendor each week." While the eBenefits component is new, most employees already are familiar with other aspects of PeopleSoft's Employee Self Service, which many employees use on a regular basis. These features include paycheck information, compensation history, W-4 tax information, health plans, direct deposit and other online employee information. "The eBenefits service is live thanks to the efforts of the PeopleSoft Benefits Team, Information Systems and the Benefits Working Group," says Chaney. "These groups worked diligently to design, develop, test and communicate the new component for more than 30,000 participants. As with all PeopleSoft implementations, the commitment of some very dedicated people produced a quality product." To access eBenefits, visit http://intranet.partners.org/HR/eBenefits.asp.
