Memorial service
A memorial service for Ricardo
Diaz, the Buildings and Grounds employee who lost his life Feb. 18,
will be held May 21 at 3 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Diaz's family
and co-workers have been invited to attend, and the service is open to
the MGH community as well. A reception at the Blossom Cafe lobby will
follow the service.
MGH Revere road race and health fair
The MGH
Revere HealthCare Center will host its annual road race May 17, at
8:30 am along Revere Beach. Registration will begin at 7:15 am for the
5-mile race. All proceeds will benefit the MGH Revere Teen Center. The
center also will host a "fun run" for kids at 9:30 am, as well
as a health fair with screenings, raffles and entertainment from 8:30

Senior HealthWISE seminar
The MGH Senior HealthWISE education seminar program will offer "From
Laboratory to Life: Research Advances in Aging" May 19, from 4 to
5 pm in the East Garden Dining Room. Kenneth Minaker, MD, chief of the
MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit, will discuss research findings on longer
life expectancy, genetic influences on aging and making appropriate personal

HIV symposium
The MGH Program in Nutritional Metabolism is sponsoring a symposium "Liver,
Bone and Cardiovascular Consideration in HIV Lipodystrophy" May 19,
from 8 am to 12:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. This symposium will
feature lectures and a panel discussion. Seating is limited. For more

Zervas Lecture
The fourth annual Nicholas T. Zervas, MD, Lecture will be held May 20,
at noon in the Ether Dome. E. Chester Ridgway, MD, professor of Medicine
at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, will present "Proliferation

Responsible Conduct of Research Program
Partners HealthCare will sponsor a Responsible Conduct of Research Program
to be held May 21, from 5 to 9 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Registration
will start at 4 pm and a light dinner will be served. This program is
designed to fulfill the NIH ethics training requirement for predoctoral
and postdoctoral National Research Service Award trainees. For more information,

Hispanic health services research conference
The MGH Institute for Health Policy and the MGH Multicultural Affairs
Office will sponsor "Improving Health Outcomes and Reducing Health
Disparities" May 23, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Bigelow Amphitheater.
Health services researchers from around the country will present research
that focuses on the Hispanic community and discuss approaches to addressing
Hispanic health disparities. Registration is free but required for attendance.

AMMP scholarship applications
The Association
of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) now is accepting applications
for its annual scholarship program. Current employees of the MGH, Partners
and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital are eligible to compete for awards
of up to $1,000 each for the fall 2003 and spring 2004 semesters. The
