David K.C. Cooper, MD, PhD, of the Transplantation Biology Research Center, has written a book entitled Xeno: The Promise of Transplanting Animal Organs into Humans. The book, which is published by Oxford University Press, is now available in bookstores. The book is co-written by Robert P. Lanza, MD, of Advanced Cell Technology, Inc., in Shrewsbury, Mass., with a foreword by Robin Cook, MD.

Christopher Lyman, RPH, of the MGH Pharmacy, was recently awarded the Pharmacist of the Year award by the Massachusetts Society of Health-systems Pharmacists. This award is bestowed annually to the pharmacist who has demonstrated leadership and commitment to the profession. Lyman was recognized for his contribution to the hospital's adverse drug reaction project.
