Blood donors needed
The MGH Blood Donor Center is asking employees to donate blood around the Memorial Day Holiday and to encourage family and friends to donate. A pancake breakfast will be held June 1, from 8:30 to 11 am, for all employees who donate at that time. All blood donors who donate at least two times before Aug. 1 will have their names entered to win one of 10 packages for a one-night stay, including dinner and breakfast at the International Inn in Hyannis, Mass. The Blood Donor Center is open Monday and Wednesday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Tuesdays, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Menopause and your health
The MGH Women's Health Coordinating Council will host "Menopause and Your Health" June 9, from 5 to 7:30 pm at the Revere HealthCare Center. The program is designed to help women better understand the facts about menopause and current treatment options. The registration fee is $25, and scholarships are available. Senior HealthWISE lecture
MGH Senior HealthWISE will sponsor "Myths of Aging" June 7, from 4 to 5 pm in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Kenneth Minaker, MD, chief of the MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit, will uncover the truths and misconceptions about aging. For more information, call (617) 724-6756.

CRP seminar series
The MGH Clinical Research Program (CRP) will sponsor an information session "RSVP for Health," featuring MGH Medical Interpreters Service and the MGH Translation Office June 9, from 11:45 am to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Kay Ryan, of the CRP Clinical Research Support Office, will describe how to use the "RSVP for Health" database for subject recruitment. Karin Hobrecker, an MGH translation specialist, and Lulu Sanchez, of the MGH Medical Interpreters Office, will review available language resources and give tips on how to plan for and work with medical interpreters and translators. Ethics journal club
The June Ethics Journal Club will present "Exploring the Ethical Challenges of DNR Orders" June 11, from noon to 1 pm in the Sweet Conference Room. Aaron Waxman, MD, PhD, of the MGH Pulmonary and Critical Care Unit, will be the discussant and Ellen Robinson, RN, PhD, of MGH Nursing, will be the presenter. MGH Revere road race and health fair
The MGH Revere HealthCare Center will hold its annual road race and three-mile walk June 12 at 7:30 am along Revere Beach. The race begins at 8:30 am, the walk begins at 9 am and a children's one-mile run begins at 9:30 am. All proceeds will benefit the MGH Youth Zone. Estrogen therapy forum
The MGPO and the Women's Health Coordinating Council are co-sponsoring a forum for clinicians, "Update on Estrogen Therapy," June 7, from 5 to 6:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium.
