  • Remembering a beloved employee: Ricardo Diaz
    Although several months have passed since the tragic death of MGH employee Ricardo Diaz, 39, deep emotions and heartfelt sadness still linger among MGHers who knew him well. Those employees — along with Diaz's family, friends, supervisors and MGH administrators — were able to express their feelings during a memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Diaz held May 21.
  • Haber selected as new director of MGH Cancer Center
    After an extensive search, Daniel Haber, MD, PhD, has been selected as the new director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, succeeding Kurt Isselbacher, MD, who held the position since 1986.
  • Four MGHers recognized at Nursing Spectrum gala
    Four of the MGH's best and brightest were recognized May 19 at this year's New England
    Nursing Spectrum Nurse of the Year Gala. Nursing Spectrum is a nurse-led communications company that publishes a biweekly magazine and produces a website that celebrate the nursing profession.
  • Race through Revere for good health
    Despite the unseasonably cold weather, 73 runners gathered May 17 at Revere Beach for the annual "Revere Moves" 5-mile road race and health fair sponsored by the MGH Revere HealthCare Center. Franklin Sanchez was the winner of the race with a time of 25 minutes and 25 seconds. A one-mile fun run also was held for children ages 2 to 13.
  • Kaleidoscope offers inspiration and creativity
    Young artists from MassGeneral Hospital for Children displayed their creative artwork May 21 for a new program called Kaleidoscope, which transforms pediatric patients' artwork into healing displays for children being treated in the Cancer Center.
  • MGH Clinical Research Day
    The Clinical Research Program invites the MGH community to participate in Clinical Research Day June 6, from 8 am to 1:30 pm. A day of opportunity for collaboration among basic and clinical sciences, it is also a chance to celebrate the quality of clinical research at the MGH.
